Advantages of Owning a Prepaid Wireless Phone

There are many advantages to choosing prepaid phones, at least for some people. Although most prepaid wireless phone plans charge, more per minute than one would pay for a monthly plan, for someone who uses a mobile phone infrequently it may not be worth the cost even with a plan with minimal minutes. With many pay as you go plans now offering free nights and weekends, it is even more attractive for many people. After all if you are at work all day by the time you come home you will have little time to talk on the phone, and if you have a land line, there is little need to use a wireless device except when you leave the house.

Another reason some people may choose mobile phone pay as you go plans is because they do not like the idea of a contract. With prepaid phone service, you do not have to enter into a contract, although there is one provider that offers an optional prepaid plan that does require a contract and credit check. If you are looking for something that provides mobile phones with pay as you go service there are many different options that include free nights and weekends and text messaging. You can also have a camera or music phone on a prepaid plan though you will have to pay for these services as you go.

For someone who has less than perfect credit it may be advantageous to choose prepaid service. Even if you are approved for a regular plan your credit report may require you to pay a substantial deposit or you may b e approved for a limited amount per month which means if you go over your plan’s minutes substantially you may find your service disconnected even if your bill is not past due. Choosing one of the mobile phones on a pay as you go basis will avoid both of these problems. Of course, if you use your phone frequently you may have no choice but to pay the deposit since that is likely to work out to be cheaper than continually purchasing minutes.

With modern cell phones, wireless service can be expensive if you go over your plan’s minutes. If you have a tendency to do that, a prepaid phone plan may be the best option for you. Instead of going over your minutes and having a large bill the next month, a prepaid plan allots a certain number of minutes and then you are finished. Even with a plan such as T-Mobile’s Flex Plan if you run out of minutes before the next billing cycle you, have to purchase additional ones in order to continue using your phone. This provides an incentive for many people to control how much they use their wireless phone so they do not have to continue purchasing additional minutes. It is a budgeting plan that allows a person to be in complete control of their spending and not face being faced with additional charges they didn’t expect.
